Mini Coyote

Coyote is a LIVE multi-function warning system, with over 600,000 users already across Europe, helping motorists to drive more safely and control their speed through real-time communication of fixed and mobile speed cameras, traffic incidents, and speed limits. The system will even warn drivers when they enter a school zone or the London congestion charge zone.

The philosophy of the Coyote Community is member involvement. By alerting other Coyote users to traffic incidents and speed camera locations, drivers contribute to improving safety for the whole Coyote Community, helping everyone to �Keep Safe, Keep Legal, Keep Driving�.

Users can have confidence that they are driving within the speed limit, minimising fuel costs, preserving their driving licence and thereby minimising their car insurance premiums.

Coyote has major safety benefits and is completely legal under the Road Safety Act 2006 as it merely alerts drivers to the presence of fixed and mobile speed cameras and encourages motorists to slow down.

Functionality

Mini Coyote is a small black box that can be windscreen or dashboard mounted, or handlebar or sleeve mounted for motorcyclists. With an intuitive colour screen, voice alerting, 3 multi-function buttons and a permanent display of the current speed limit, this is technology so simple to use that drivers stay focused on the road ahead.

Combining GPS/GPRS and GSM technologies, Mini Coyote communicates in real time the presence of mobile speed cameras. It also allows users, by simply pressing a button, to alert other Coyote users to the presence of mobile speed cameras.

The system alerts drivers to a range of traffic incidents as well as communicating the presence of speed cameras. Mini Coyote will even calculate and display a driver�s average speed through average speed camera (SPEC) controlled areas in roadworks.

Mini Coyote maintains a �live� connection to the Coyote server. Updates are communicated constantly via a GSM connection.

Mini Coyote communicates locations that have a high frequency of mobile speed camera controls as well as those that are currently live.

Information delivered by Mini Coyote is either obtained from other Coyote users or from the speed camera and speed limit information from partner databases. Updates are received as soon as the device is switched on and communication remains active throughout a journey, delivering relevant real time alerts.

A car travelling 300 yards behind the driver who first spots a mobile control would receive the warning in time to slow down. The device emits an audible alert and a colour-coded warning telling the driver how frequently the speed control has been reported. It also displays the car�s speed, the speed limit and the distance to the camera.
